The lines have been blurring, like whatever that is that's happening at the Lunt-Fontanne this summer, but I love Vegas and am going couple of times. There are many other sources for readers to turn P, your description combined with the reviews make me think the people who love "Le Reve" at the Wynn in Vegas could love this. If the Times isn’t interested in covering such experiences they should leave their critics at home. I don’t think you would send a serious theatre critic to a Jonas Brothers show, and I’m not sure why the Times wants to put the Shed and every stage performance they put on into the genre box they call “serious theatre.” This show has many pop culture elements and is designed to bring in an audience diverse in age and ethnicity that isn’t drawn to the theatre that otherwise exists. When did mockery become an acceptable tone for a review in the Times? This reads like an extended Trump tweet. Does that mean such a show can never be done? I consider the performers brave for trying. No one is trained to do all of that at a high professional level. The performers were expected to pull off intricate dance moves and also to carry the story with dialogue and even sing ballads. ![]() I had not seen any of those things on stage before. ![]() ![]() The production included dramatic lighting effects, a stage that brought up water to depict a spring for an extended dance sequence, aerials including the lead actress being raised above the stage while completely limp and then coming back to life, and choreography that was based in martial arts and incorporated modern dance into it.
